Workshop to help County eBirders
Administrator | Oct 09, 2014 | Comments 0
Birders in the County and beyond have a new online tool to record their birding activities, reports and to access information about birds.
eBird was launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society. In Canada eBird is administered through Bird Studies Canada.
eBird collects observations from birders through portals managed and maintained by local partner conservation organizations. In this way eBird targets specific audiences with the highest level of local expertise, promotion, and project ownership.

On Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 7 to 9 pm, County birders will have the opportunity to learn more about ebird and how to use it at Picton Public Library.
Mike Burrell, eBird Coordinator, will present a workshop to teach participants how to submit observations and also how to view the results of other birders’ efforts. The evening is part of the public information program of Prince Edward County Field Naturalists. Participants are invited to bring their lab top computers to the library or use library computers.
