More than three dozen women raised their heart rates and money for medical equipment at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
The third annual Zumbathon dance fitness fundraiser held Saturday at the Community Centre in Picton raised $1,749.01 toward an ECG machine and vital signs monitors for the County hospital. Medical equipment is not funded by the government. Saturday’s event brings the three-year total raised to $5,445.19 for PECM hospital.
“Thank you to B&R Promotions for all their hard work to organize the event and secure sponsorships,” said Briar Boyce, communications co-ordinator for the hospital foundation. “Thank you to certified Zumba instructor, Wanda Anderson for her infectious energy and enthusiasm. Her fabulous choice of music, which fit wonderfully with the choreography, made the evening truly memorable.”
Boyce also thanked the almost 40 ladies who came out to dance the night away and to local businesses who were event sponsors.
