BIA parkette perks up stalled Picton project

The Picton BIA has created a new parkette at the corner of Washburn and Main streets to brighten up the area while the Shoppers Drug Mart project is on hold.
Stunning photographs of picturesque Picton, by Steven Draper, of Polepics, are featured on the fence. Here, the BIA’s Roni Summers Wickens and Norman Markland with one of the photographs.

The parkette was well done however who would want to sit there and look at a lot consumed by 3 foot weeds. Where is the responsibility of the lot owners to maintain the site whether the development is delayed or not. This is not a good first impression for a business. There are property standard bylaws.
Perhaps something could be done to freshen up the vacant Royal Hotel. This building now has Heritage designation and ive seen many tourists stopping to see what this building is and at this point it it holds no luster of its past.
Great job with the parkette.
Wonderful idea…..great pictures
