The leisurely stroll, Saturday, was along Hilltop and Brewer’s Roads and raised more than $2,400. The event was the 2016 inaugural fund raiser for the South Shore Appeal Fund, paying legal costs for Environmental Review Tribunals appealing industrial wind turbine projects. More than $250,000 has been collected to date.
Drummer Gavin North led the group. Long Dog winery offered warm hospitality and mulled wine at the end of the walk.
Organizer Janna McCarthy was pleased with the results of the event.
“Getting something like this together over the holiday season was a bit of a challenge”, she said, “but in the end, as usual, County people came through to make it a successful event.”
