911 service restored following early morning outage

UPDATE: 911 service has been restored.
The County of Prince Edward is one of several areas across Ontario experiencing a 911 service outage.
Residents and visitors are advised to call the fire department directly at 613.476.2345 if they require fire assistance.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the public to call the OPP non-emergency line at 1.888.310.1122, which remains in service, if they are unable to call 911 and require emergency police services. OPP continues to respond to calls for service during this outage.
Outages were reported in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia including Quinte West, Belleville and Kingston and Toronto regions. Many services have since been restored.
The issue with the next generation 9-1-1 network is being related to cellular phone networks. It was detected just after 3 a.m.
