A Prince Edward County OPP officer was awarded a Partnership Accolade Award by Command Staff of the Ontario Provincial Police at General Headquarters in Orillia.
Sgt. Paul Leblanc was recognized for partnership building in 2021 that reduced police calls for service at a local youth facility by using Ontario’s Mobilization and Engagement Model (OMEM) of Community Policing.
Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant John Hatch said Sgt. Leblanc was able to utilize data and analytics, and engage members from the youth facility, Children’s Aid Society, Ministry of Child and Youth Services, and the PEC Police Services Board to name a few.
“Sgt. Leblanc’s character, commitment, passion and professionalism was noted by community partners, which helped him win this prestigious award,” said Hatch. “We are very fortunate to have Sgt. Paul Leblanc here at the PEC OPP detachment as he truly exemplifies the OPP values by serving with pride and professionalism every day and interacting with respect and compassion with everyone that he deals with.”
