Active Living Fair for seniors set for Nov. 1

The County Seniors Centre, through Community Care for Seniors, is hosting its first Seniors Information and Active Living Fair Thursday, Nov. 1 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Wellington and District Community Centre.

This free event is designed to highlight activities that promote active healthy living, social engagement, partnerships, independence, learning, and reduces social isolation, for seniors, their families and caregivers.

The fair will enhance accessibility and awareness of programs and services available in the area. There will be a variety of “vendors” from the community showcasing what services they can offer, as well as a variety of seminars and demonstrations.

The PEC Fire Department is bringing the aerial ladder truck for people to have an up-close look. The PEC OPP Detachment will provide a presentation on frauds and scams. Lunch will be served between noon and 1pm and refreshments are available throughout the event.
