Participants of National Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) 2017 and other Canadian Armed Forces members involved in reacting to a major air disaster (MAJAID) will take part in a simulated response on Monday, Sept. 25.
Members of the public may notice increased activity in the area of Canadian Forces Detachment Mountain View. Exercise actors will also simulate injuries in order to provide realism for exercise participants. The exercise is not expected to cause any disturbance to the surrounding community.
National SAREX is an annual exercise that provides realistic training for Canada’s search and rescue community in order to assure members are ready to respond to any mission.

Prince Edward County was the island country of Limeria last year – in a mock disaster earthquake exercise. The Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) landed for the training exercise.
