Aeromodellers back in flight at Consecon

Bay of Quinte Aeromodellers are back flying this summer on Stinson Block Road in Consecon. Here John Ferguson launches his radio-controlled plane which is electric-powered and tops out at 210 kmph. It is controlled with the transmitter in his hand. The club dates back to 1932 when flying enthusiasts met in Belleville. It gained prominence when it started hosting an annual Jet Rally at Mountainview in 1987 – an event that was one of the first of its kind that attracted flyers and aircraft from across Canada and the United States. Difficulty seeking flying areas ended when an ideal location at Stinson Block was found in 2014. For details on the club, click here to visit its website.
