Average price of home increased to $228,562

The number of real estate sales were down for April over last year, but good news for sellers was that the average residential sale price increased 2.2 per cent.

There were 290 units sold by members of the Quinte and District Association of Realtors last month, compared to 349 sold for the same month last year. The residential portion of the sold units was 262 for 2014, and 301 for 2013.

“The  average residential sale price increased 2.2 per cent over 2013, coming in at $228,562 compared to $223,737 last year,” reported Michelle Norlock, association president. “The spring weather has finally arrived and it’s a great time to search for your dream property.”

With continued low mortgage rates, that rustic cottage or the dream of owning your own home could bcome true.
