Better weather resulted in better sales in December over last year when ice and snow cancelled much of southern Ontario’s daily business.
Quinte and District Real Estate Association president Michelle Norlock notes the December 2014 numbers show 174 overall units sold, compared to 127 sold for December 2013. The residential portion of the sold units was 142 in 2014 and 104 in 2013.
“The December average residential sale price in 2014 was slightly higher than 2013, coming in at $240,304 compared to $233,265 last year, reflecting an increase of 3 per cent,” Norlock said in her month statement. “December also reflected an increase in new residential listings compared with last year, with 188 in 2014 and 139 in 2013.”
