Avoid the heat at the library, community centres

County residents and visitors seeking relief from the heat are invited to go to local libraries or the air-conditioned community centres while the heat wave continues.
With temperatures expected to remain above 30 degrees for the next several days, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Prince Edward County.
The County Fire Department encourages residents to check in on vulnerable neighbours, friends and family members to ensure they stay cool and hydrated.
The Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health Unit advises that those who are most vulnerable to suffering serious illness from extreme heat include the elderly, people with chronic illness or who take certain medications, infants and preschool children, people who participate in physical activity or are involved in strenuous outdoor work for prolonged periods, and pets.
