Awards honour outstanding County construction projects

The Prince Edward County Construction Association honoured outstanding architectural and construction projects of 2010 at their annual awards night banquet.
The Wellington and District Community Centre received the Commercial Project of the Year Award (sponsored by BMO Picton) honouring the work of contractor Taskforce Engineering. The Commercial Award of Merit (sponsored by Royal LePage Picton) honoured the work of The Woodcrafters at Dr. Jenny Wong Garrett’s office, 45 Main St., Picton.
Hickory Homes was honoured as contractor for the Residential Project of the Year, (sponsored by BMO Picton) the home of Kyle and Christine DenOuden, at 3684 Cty Rd 1, Bloomfield. The Residential Award of Merit (sponsored by Royal LePage Picton) honoured Loyalist Contractors’ work at the home of Liz and Glynne Jones, 12586 Glenora Road.
The Elizabeth Murray ‘Keeping the Heritage” Award (sponsored by the County of Prince Edward) honoured work at the Jim Vice Mary Kelly home, by Loyalist Contractors, at 1352 North Big Island Road.
Details on the projects, and others, will be featured in the new @Home Construction, Renovation and Gardening Directory, to be distributed throughout Prince Edward County March 24.
