Blowing and drifting snow a hazard on County roads

A vehicle slid into the ditch and hit a hydro pole Sunday afternoon while driving was hampered by blowing and drifting snow.  

County Road 2 north of Wellington was one of several roads affected by blowing and drifting snow. Photographed above, a vehicle had slid into the ditch and hit a hydro pole Sunday afternoon. Another 2-4 cms of snow is expected this evening with wind gusts to 50km/hr.

Monday morning’s wind chill of -13 will meet wind gusts up to 40km/h near noon. The afternoon high is expected to be plus 5 degrees. Periods of rain in the early evening are expected to change to periods of snow after midnight.

The sun returns Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with highs of 8, 11, then 13 degrees C. Rain may return for the weekend.
