The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for specific batches of egg brands due to possible salmonella contamination.
So far, the recall affects Compliments, No Name, Golden Valley, IGA, Foremost and Western Family brands of eggs of varying sizes.
The CFIA states the recall affects eggs from specific lots and is urging people to check their lot numbers to ensure they are not included in the recall.
Eggs from the affected batches should be thrown out or returned to the location they were purchased.
Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
