SMILE! Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie Campaign raised $5,438 for priority medical equipment needs at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

“This year’s campaign was a tremendous success again and it wouldn’t have been possible without the loyal support of our customers and the dedicated staff who worked hard this past week to create those 5,428 smiles,” said Paul Massey, owner of the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons.

The campaign ran for one week, September 17-23. Both the Picton and Wellington’s restaurants designated the proceeds of their $1 chocolate chunk cookie sales to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation for the fifth consecutive year. There were 889 more cookies sold in 2018 than in 2017.

This year’s #smilecookie campaign puts Tim Hortons’ cumulative giving total to $29,352.20. They have successfully met their goal of reaching the Benefactor level on the PECMH Foundation donor recognition wall for gifts totaling $25,000 and up.

Buy a smile for those who make patients smile 🙂

This weekend, thank those who make others smile with their care every day at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

Just drop by Tim Hortons in Picton and Wellington to buy a ‘Smile Cookie’ where 100 per cent of the sales of the $1 chocolate chunk cookies will be donated by to the hospital by restaurant owners Paul and Valerie Massey.

Since partnering with Tim Hortons, the Smile Cookie program locally has raised in excess of $23,000 for priority medical equipment needs for the County hospital.

It’s vital for the community to continue to ensure the County hospital is equipped with the latest technology to keep it relevant as the government does not pay for medical equipment.
