Bylaw to step up enforcement of no parking areas; more washrooms added
Administrator | Jul 31, 2020 | Comments 0
Bylaw enforcement officers last weekend, issued 119 parking tickets throughout Prince Edward County, following new, no parking areas being established.
The action was taken last week to improve traffic flow for vehicles and first responders, especially in high traffic areas around provincial parks, conservation areas, beaches, and downtown commercial areas.
No parking areas are in place at waterfronts that are commonly accessed from municipal roads. Signs indicate no parking areas. Drivers are responsible for scanning the area for signs before parking and obeying all parking restrictions.
Municipal staff will also be on site at the Wellington Rotary Beach throughout the weekend to enforce the rules and assist with crowd control.
Visitors are reminded that Wellington Rotary Beach is closed from 11 pm – 7 am each day and the following restrictions are in place:
No overnight camping or parking
No alcoholic beverages
No barbecuing
No pets off leash
Please clean up after yourselves and your pets and do not feed waterfowl or wildlife.
The municipality has added more public washrooms and extended hours of operation to better serve the community.
