The Milford Fair board helped ‘Back the Build’ this week with a $2,000 gift to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The funds were raised through activities undertaken by several volunteers at Milford’s 73rd annual fair held in September at the Mt. Tabor fairgrounds.
The theme of this year’s fair was ‘Back the Build’ and the board cheered all the organizers, volunteers, exhibitors and vendors who helped contribute to the success of this year’s event with special thanks to the loyal patrons and families who return to enjoy the fair year after year.
“Groups, like the Milford Fair Board and their volunteers, speak to the importance of community involvement and the impact their work can have on the quality of life for those residing and visiting our County,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the hospital foundation. “We are so grateful for the Fair Board’s dedication, support and interest in the future of our hospital.”
The Milford Fall Fair has been running continuously since 1946 when it welcomed home returning soldiers from the Second World War. Since then, the Milford Fall Fair has been held on the second Saturday in September as a community and family focused event.
