The public can expect to see a larger number of military vehicles on the roads between Kingston and Mountain View as the Canadian Forces Joint Operations Support Group conducts Exercise ‘Ready Posture’ from Oct. 13-30.
“Residents in the area of Mountain View may see a relatively large movement of equipment and sea containers over several days,” said Captain Anthony Hoekstra, Joint Task Force Central. “Other than transit to the training area from Kingston, the Exercise will be contained within a specific area in Mountain View. The focus is on theater opening and closing, including building a camp, checking that everything is in order, followed by deconstruction and redeployment to the home unit.”
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to remain patient and show their support to the troops.
The Canadian Forces Joint Operational Support Group (CFJOSG) has the mandate for theatre opening and theatre closure activities. On a yearly basis CFJOSG conducts ‘Ready Posture’ to exercise this capability.
