Concerned Citizens sponsor first mayoral all-candidates’ meeting

Concerned Citizens of Prince Edward County will sponsor the first Mayoral All-Candidates meeting for October’s municipal election campaign on Thursday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, 41 Barker St, Picton.
“There is great interest in the Mayoral campaign, even at this early date”, said Robert Granger, Chairperson of Concerned Citizens. “We are pleased to provide County residents with an opportunity to meet the candidates who have declared to date, and to compare their positions on current issues.
“The County is faced with major challenges, including escalating taxes and user fees, lack of control of wind energy development, differing views on economic development and citizens’ desire to participate in government. We need to elect a Mayor who will provide both vision and leadership to the new Council on these and other important issues.”
Candidates will respond to questions prepared by Concerned Citizens, plus questions from County residents who attend the meeting.
Concerned Citizens of Prince Edward County is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to the preservation of the quality of life in the County and the affordability of local government. For more information, visit www.ccpec.on.ca
