County businesses among Quinte Business Achievement Award winners

Prince Edward County businesses were among those in the Bay of Quinte region honoured Friday at the National Air Force Museum of Canada during the 22nd Annual Quinte Business Achievement Awards Gala.

A crowd of 360 people honored the nominees and congratulated 15 winners of the various awards to individuals, companies and organizations who have taken those extra steps toward business excellence. This year, 111 companies completed the nomination process – many from the County.

“There was great excitement in the air at the gala,” said Morgan Scott, event co-ordinator. “Past nominees and even non-nominated businesses were in attendance to show their support and to celebrate with other businesses in the region. It is always great to see our local businesses so proud to be located in the Quinte Region.”

“The Business Achievement Awards committee works takes about nine months to pull together these awards every year,” said Suzanne Andrews, committee chair. “Every year the awards are reviewed to ensure the categories are reflective of the business community here in the Quinte Region and the committee works to encourage all businesses that are nominated to fill out their questionnaire.”

The first business awards event was organized to celebrate the success of small business. Over the years the awards have changed and the Quinte Business Achievement Awards now accepts nominations for companies of all sizes across a wide expanse of sectors.

“We would like to extend our best wishes to all the nominees for their future success and thank them for joining the sponsors and organizers to celebrate the 2018 award winners and congratulate them on their outstanding achievements,” said Andrews.
