A Prince Edward County Canine Control Officer, ironically, is the winner of a silent auction to help local cats. Lolly Wilkinson, and his wife Karen, had placed the winning bid on a beautiful Christmas tree decorated by Anna Stellatos, in memory of her miniature Poodle, Nikki. The silent auction on the tree and assorted other holiday gifts was held at Angelo’s Restaurant in Picton. Above, Loyalist Humane Society Shelter Manager Anne Moffat and the Society’s resident greeter Liza, were on hand at Angelo’s to receive the proceeds – $583 – of the silent auction for the shelter. Catch up on the latest happenings at the Humane Society by reading A Sheltered Life – stories as told to Maggie Haylock-Capon, by Liza, resident greeter, with photographs by Alan R. Capon.

Congratulations, Liza, on your highly successful public appearance at Angelo’s. Few cats could have carried out such an important job with so much aplomb. You are a wonderful ambassador for the Loyalist Humane Society. Hope to see more of you at other public functions.
