County docks limited or closed – boat launches remain open

The County has restricted access to, or closed a number of, docks due to high water levels and damage caused by the waves. Quinte Conservation, earlier this week, issued a “water safety statement” for boaters – especially in light of this weekend’s Kiwanis Fishing Derby. The authority also issued a flood statement for PEC and surrounding areas.

All boat launches remain open.

The Glenora Ferry is also out of service until further notice.

The County, in a statement Friday morning, urged boaters to use extreme caution and wise judgement when launching their boats, or using any of the docks at the boat launches.

Water levels will need to subside significantly before the required repairs can be made to any damaged docks and before full use of the docks can resume.
