Fire Chief issues full burn ban

Due to extremely dry and combustible ground cover, Fire Chief Robert Rutter has issued a total burn ban throughout the County of Prince Edward.

A total burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including brushfire, campfires, and burn barrels.

The fire chief evaluates weather and ground conditions to determine the necessity of a burn ban. When conditions improve, the ban will be updated.

A partial burn ban has been in place since March 23.

Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue reminds residents that a burn permit is required for all open air burning.
