County photographer will focus on ‘giving back’ to local healthcare workers

Using some of his down time this week, the County’s Rob Garden was out capturing nature’s beauty – this week with this star trail, photographed just north of Wellington – and is working on a plan with other photographers to honour healthcare workers.
Garden explains it’s a series of 300 photographs, each a 20-second exposure, stacked together to create the effect of the “star trail.” It takes about eight hours from start to finish to create the final shot.
Garden, a former educator at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, and now working with the Hastings Prince Edward District Board of Education, is also the man behind the lens at Robbie Garden Photography.
He has joined other local photographers who want to honour healthcare workers battling each day through the COVID-19 pandemic.
To give back to some hard-working front line medical staff, the photographers are opening up at least 100 mini photo sessions on Sept. 14 and 15, 2020 to those working at local hospitals and clinics. Sessions are to be available all over the Quinte region, and Garden will be photographing 10 clients in Prince Edward County.
There is no cost to book and no contest to enter. “You work in healthcare and want photos. Done. We have you covered,” he said.
Email quintecovidphotos@gmail.com to claim your spot. Spots are first-come, first-served, non-transferable and cannot be claimed for monetary value.
