Community members are invited to apply to serve on the board of directors for the new Prince Edward County Housing Corporation.
“We know many people in our community are passionate about the issue of affordable housing, and they have the talent and skills to make a difference,” said Mayor Robert Quaiff. “We encourage these people put their name forward to serve on the board of the Prince Edward County Housing Corporation.”
County Council will consider qualified individuals who have the necessary skills and expertise to advance the mandate of the corporation.
Applicants must clearly articulate how their qualifications align with the core competencies the board must have in order to perform its fiduciary duties. The competencies are grouped into three categories:
– Professional experience
– Environmental or contextual knowledge
– Personal attributes and skills
County Council established the Prince Edward County Housing Corporation earlier this year with a mandate to increase the supply of affordable housing in the municipality through a broad range of activities.
The independent not-for-profit corporation is structured as a single-member, non-share capital corporation with a nine-member board of directors.
Visit the County website for more information about the corporation (http://www.thecounty.ca/county-government/municipal-projects/pec-housing-corporation).
If you are interested in applying to serve as a volunteer director on the board, drop off your cover letter and CV before 2 pm on Friday, Dec. 14 to Kim White, County Clerk, at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street, Picton).
