County south rep new school board vice-chair

Kari Kramp, representing Central Hastings, was elected chair of the board

A new chair and vice chair were elected to the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board at Monday night’s meeting.

Kari Kramp, Central Hastings representative, was elected chair of the board for a one-year term, effective immediately. Through that role, she will also be the chair and member of the Governance and Policy Committee.

Stacey Lewis, representing South Prince Edward County, was elected vice-chair.

Stacey Lewis, representative for South Prince Edward County, was elected vice-chair of the board for a one-year term. Both positions are effective immediately.

Elected to the Governance and Policy Committeewere: Shannon Binder, Southeast Hastings; Stacey Lewis, South Prince Edward County; Amanda Robertson, Belleville/Thurlow; and Ron Speck, North Hastings. Shannon Binder was elected vice-chair of this committee.

Board members approved a motion to suspend the Audit Committee bylaws to allow for one audit committee meeting on Nov. 20 prior to the HPEDSB organizational board meeting on Nov. 25, with trustee representation of the past appointed audit committee members: Trustee Prinzen, Trustee Robertson, and Trustee Kramp, who served from Nov. 27, 2023 to Nov. 17, 2024 and bring forward any recommendations from the audit committee to the Nov. 25, 2024 organizational board meeting.
