Prince Edward County council honoured Mike Bond at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Mayor Robert Quaiff thanked Bond, and presented him with a Civic Recognition Award for his actions helping to save a life.
Bond, dislodged food and resuscitated Norene Pulver at the Wellings in Picton, on Dec. 15, 2017.
“Right place, right time,” said Bond, accepting the certificate.
“Years of doing what I do in paramedic work… it was nice to be there for no reason. We had a nice visit earlier, and we had a nice visit afterward,” he said. “This is wonderful but it’s just the sort of thing you do when you’re born, raised in Prince Edward County and brought up by wonderful parents. And after your parents leave you, your wife is there to take over that upbringing,” he said to laughter and applause from the council and gallery.
