The tall ship St Lawrence II Kingston sailed silently along the Adolphus Reach Tuesday as part of its journey from Cobourg to Kingston. A Final Wings Parade was held at Canadian Forces Station Mountain View Thursday afternoon to celebrate the end of the Glider Pilot Scholarship Course at the Cadet Flying Training Centre. Precedent-setting rural water restrictions and reduced bulk water rates were approved by council Thursday morning at Shire Hall to combat severe drought conditions and to help preserve drinking water for urban and rural residents. The new bylaws restrict residents from certain non-essential water consumption activities during the current Level 3, and any greater, Low Water Condition.

A man who thought he could just have a small fire to burn a stump will pay large for a what turned into a grass fire that consumed 10 acres and threatened nearby properties. “Nobody has to burn,” said Prince Edward County Fire Chief Scott Manlow, who first issued the County-wide burn ban in July.
