COVID-19 vaccinations for children under five years begin July 28

Children aged six months to under five years old will be able to receive the pediatric Moderna COVID-19 vaccine beginning July 28.

The vaccine is a slightly modified, lower dose (half the amount given to children aged six to 11), in a two-dose series at a recommended interval of eight weeks between first and second doses. The pediatric COVID-19 vaccine should be given 14 days before or after a different vaccine and children who have had COVID-19 should wait at least eight weeks after COVID-19 symptom onset or a positive test to get vaccinated.

Book an appointment for an upcoming clinic through the Ontario booking site, starting at 8 a.m. on July 28 by visiting https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine.
