Crazy Covid World song supports hospital build

Fraser and Robyn Hardman who co-wrote Crazy Covid World for the benefit of the PECMH Foundation

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge everybody this year, community members are stepping up in heartwarming ways to support the build of the County’s new hospital.

Recently, County musicians Fraser and Robyn Hardman helped raise morale, and funds for the build, through a song they co-wrote, called Crazy Covid World.

“My wife and I were talking about all the stuff happening during this crazy time, and the song started coming together. While the virus is clearly something nobody would want and has had so many negative effects, there are still so many good and positive things coming out of it, and we tried to focus on those in the song,” said Hardman. He performs regularly as a member of The Frere Brothers and with Celtic/folk band Seventh Town.

The song was produced with fellow musicians of Seventh Town and was aired on 99.3 County FM. People who wanted a digital copy of the song were encouraged to make a gift to the PECMH Foundation, and raised $2,137.46.

“The world is dealing with a coronavirus pandemic, but difficult times often bring out the best in many people. Neighbours help neighbours. Strangers help strangers. We want to thank Fraser and Robyn for being part of our donor family. Your passion for music has benefitted our County hospital and we are so grateful for your ongoing support,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.

The Hardmans were also pleased.

“Robyn and I want to say thank you to all the health care workers putting yourselves out there, on the line, for all of us. We also wish to thank the donors who supported the hospital through purchasing an electronic copy of Crazy Covid World,” said Fraser Hardman.

Those who would still like to own a copy of the song are encouraged to reach out to the PECMH Foundation to make a donation of any size, and in return, a digital copy of the song will be e-mailed. Donors will also receive a tax receipt for the donation, minus $1 considered the fair market value of the song.
