About 300 patrons dropped of unwanted electronics for disposal at the electronics recycling event held at Picton Home Hardware on the weekend in support of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Donations from patrons have raised more than $22,000 for the foundation over the past four years. The funds assist in the purchase of priority medical equipment for Picton’s hospital.
“We were able to fill three Waste Management bins with a myriad of old and not-so-old electronics,” said Briar Boyce, communications co-ordinator. “Special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Picton Home Hardware for their tireless efforts, owners Adam and Chrissy Busscher; along with Linda Ryan, the Prince Edward Air Cadet Squadron and many other volunteers for making these electronics recycling events so successful.”
