Join Prince Edward County photographer Phil Norton on photographic trip through Prince Edward County recorded during his first-time participation in the Baillie Birdathon.
Every May, birders and their supporters across Canada participate in this 24-hour fund raising challenge. Through the efforts of local paticipants, the “Baillie” annually contributes about 30 per cent of the funds needed to run the Prince Edward Point Bird
Observatory.
“I exceeded my goal by identifying 51 species by sight or sound,” Norton says. “I began at 4:30 p.m. on May 20 with an American redstart at H. J. McFarland Conservation Area and ended at 4:30 p.m. on May 21 with a flock of city pigeons in Belleville.”
