Expect traffic disruptions on 49 and several east Picton streets

Expect disruptions on County Road 49, McFarland Drive, Broad, Spencer and Hill streets.
A a private company will be drilling to install monitoring wells withing road allowance limits from Thursday, Aug. 2 to Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Work is expected to take place weekdays between 7 am and 7 pm. Traffic and pedestrian disruptions and delays may occur at the following locations:
o County Road 49 between McFarland Drive and Fawcett Avenue
o McFarland Drive between MacSteven Drive and McFarland Court
o The intersection of Broad Street and Spencer Street
o Hill Street, North of Spencer Street
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction areas if possible.

Snowman – I don’t agree with you very often, but you are absolutely correct. Whoever planned for this work to be done at this time has no consideration for the W.I., the hundreds of vendors who paid a fee to be here, and nor for the thousands of visitors who will attend this event. Couldn’t this drilling have started after the August long weekend?
