Have fun with friends old and new while “learning to do by doing” in a hands-on approach to a wide variety of new skills and ideas.
In Explore 4-H, members (ages 9 – 12 as of Jan. 1, 2024) will be encouraged to develop self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a positive self-image helped to develop their skills in communication, leadership, and problem-solving, and goal setting.
Meetings are held Tuesdays at the Picton Branch from 2:45pm – 4:45pm
The primary purpose of the 4-H program is the personal development of youth ages six to twenty-one in rural Ontario. Their motto, “Learn to do by doing”, guides us to use our Heads, Hands, Hearts, and Health to make a positive contribution to our community.
The group is particularly excited to welcome youth who live in towns and villages and who may not yet have shared the fun and friendship of 4-H membership.
For registration details please contact Jane Thompson at janethompson1838@gmail.com or Lynn Ward at lynnward50@hotmail.com.
Inquiries from adults in the community interested in becoming a 4-H volunteer are also welcome. Through the generosity of the Stark Family Fund through the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area, this program is available at no charge.
