Enjoy FEAST – free food and bicycle-powered concert

With the support of an Awesome PEC and Slow Food PEC grant, Christine Renaud and friends are hosting a free food festival Monday, Aug. 29 in Benson Park.
“The idea is to celebrate our harvest in community without financial barriers so that everyone can come and take part, enjoy free food, share skills and knowledge through roundtables and pop-up demonstrations, exchange cookbooks and kitchen tools at the swap tables, and learn about the food programs in the County,” said Renaud.
“We’re excited to kick-off the event with a free bicycle-powered music concert at 3pm as the Bikes, Beards and Bandshells Tour rides – literally – into town.”
The logistics of pulling the event together is daunting, admits Renaud, and she welcomes help from the community, specifically in food donations and produce from gardens on the day of the event for the “Free Market”, but help in other ways would be greatly appreciated as well.
