Born and raised in Belleville, Neil Ellis owned and operated a successful small business for more than 28 years before being elected as Mayor of Belleville in 2006. He was subsequently re-elected for a second term by an even greater margin in 2010.
Neil lives in Belleville with his wife Susan and three grown children. Neil has a B.A. in Law and Psychology. In his terms as Mayor, he served on a number of local and regional municipal boards. While in office, Neil was also the architect of the nationally-emulated physician recruitment program. A fierce advocate for local municipal issues and municipalities, Neil will bring this same passion to Ottawa.
Over the past months, Neil and his volunteers have been hearing loud and clear: people in the Bay of Quinte know they have being poorly served by the Harper Conservatives, and that now is the time for change.
Neil is a people person. He listens to everyone which is why he has a well-defined understanding of issues that affect all of us – not only in the Bay of Quinte, but across the county and further abroad.
Neil is accessible to you.. Call him. Email him. Stop him in the street. Let him know what’s on your mind and what is important to you.
With proven, trusted leadership for the Bay of Quinte, Neil will bring his strong track record of solid accomplishments to serve you, as your elected representative in the House of Commons.
Now is the time to get engaged in the upcoming election. Learn about the issues that affect you. Volunteer your time. And most importantly – please vote!
Terry Cassidy is an experienced leader with a record of standing up for community.
One of Terry’s favourite phrases is: “Because everyone matters.” He has served his community for 20 years as a municipal councillor, first in Sidney Township and then in Quinte West; since 1996, he has been executive director of Community Partners for Success Cooperative Quinte which, under his leadership, has grown into a four-centre operation supporting low-income parents—through skills upgrading, licensed childcare and other services. Terry helped launch the Community Development Council of Quinte; is a past-president of the Belleville YMCA; and has served as Director of Social Services for Hastings County.
One of Terry’s favourite phrases is: “Because everyone matters.”
As an elected representative and as a senior manager, he is well known for his fairness, his accountability, and his ability to bring residents together to build solutions.
Terry and his wife Joanne raised their blended family of seven children in the area. They live on a rural property in the northern part of the riding—where they raise chickens and turkeys, enjoy gardening, and revel in the region’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
