Festival of Trees raises $30,000 for hospital and community

CHEERS! from the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and its County Festival of Trees committee, to all those who helped make the 19th annual festival (fifth with the auxiliary) a seasonal success story raising nearly $30,000.
“The auxiliary is indebted to so many people who worked tirelessly to make the festival a wonderful event – including our sponsors and donors, the festival committee, our volunteers and friends who worked so hard, the bakers who filled the bake sale table, the boutique sales staff and the musicians who freely gave their time and talent,” notes Dorothy Speirs, of the auxiliary.

“The Isaiah Tubbs Resort furnished us with a lovely space and their staff helped create a warm Christmas atmosphere. Of
course, a big thank you to Santa for taking time from his busy schedule to say hello to the girls and boys. Thanks also to Home Hardware and Quinte Health Care who helped us with our costs and, last, but certainly not least, to our many visitors to the County Festival who bid so generously on the nearly 170 decorated trees, purchased baked goods, raffle tickets and items from the Second Time Around Boutique.

“All the funds raised will help us to fulfill our mission to support Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, its patients, staff and the local community in meeting their health-care needs. Many thanks go out to everyone, as do our best wishes for a happy holiday season.”
