Fibre optic cable installation continues
Administrator | Oct 16, 2014 | Comments 1
Construction began Thursday along the Millennium Trail to install fibre optic cable for high speed internet services.
Construction at the Johnson Street/County Road 5 entrance to the trail in Picton and work westward, ending at the Consecon Street entrance in Wellington by Oct. 24.
While construction is taking place, signs will be placed at the entrance to affected areas of the trail, advising users of any construction taking place in that area, or of a trail closure.
The County, in a statement, notes large equipment may leave little room for trail users in certain areas. Construction personnel will be on site at all times to assist trail users at construction locations.
The project is part of the larger Eastern Ontario Rural Network (EORN) initiative, designed to improve the delivery of high-speed Internet in eastern Ontario. It is being managed by Cogeco Cable Canada LP.

I am pretty sure that the fibre optic cable was put in all along country road 10 and 12. We cant hook into it tho, because it was put in just for the Sandbanks summer village or so I was told.
That was very annoying.
