Fifth COVID-19 related death in region; no new cases

Though no new cases have been reported since May 2, a fifth death related to COVID-19 was been reported by Hastings Prince Public Health Thursday. The deceased was a long-term care resident. Last week, two residents at Hastings Manor in Belleville died of coronavirus-related illness.

There are 43 lab-confirmed cases, and 188 probable cases. Cases in Prince Edward County remain listed at 5-9. There are 25 listed in Belleville; none in Tyendinaga and Deseronto and 1-4 in Quinte West and Central Hastings. For areas with lower numbers, ranges are being used to protect privacy.

Quinte Health Care reports one confirmed COVID-19 inpatient and 10 new patients swabbed for COVID-19 admitted in the last 24 hours.
