Flames were shooting into the air when neighbours called for firefighters to battle a blaze engulfing a two-storey storage shed on County Road 12, just down from Ridge Road early Friday afternoon.
“It was fully involved when the neighbours called in,” said Deputy Fire Chief Robert Rutter. “Flames were shooting 30 feet in the air. Fortunately we were able to contained it to the single building with no damage to the house.”
There was hay on the top floor and grass cutting equipment on the lower floor.
There were no injuries in the incident and the homeowners were not on the property at the time.
Firefighters responded from Division 2. An OPP officer was also on scene to help direct traffic.
