Five people were taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision at County Road 1 and Alexander road in Consecon at about 9 p.m. Friday night.
Prince Edward OPP, emergency responders and firefighters were on the scene and closed the road for a short time.
All injuries, the OPP report, were considered not life-threatening. A young child was transferred to a Toronto hospital for treatment. One adult was transferred to a Kingston hospital.
Police report alcohol was not a factor. The investigation continues.
“We had a very serious personal injury collision due to foggy conditions,” said Staff Sergeant John Hatch, Detachment Commander. “Five people were injured, including a 19-month old child. Thanks to the efforts of all of our first responders (Fire, EMS, and OPP) it appears at this time, that everyone will be fine, with no life-altering injuries, or fatalities. The dedication of all of our first responders (especially our volunteer fire fighters) should never be underestimated, nor taken for granted.”
