Flash mob dance celebrates International Women’s Day

There were about 40 people singing, dancing, nodding heads and tapping toes at an International Women’s Day gathering Tuesday night in Picton.
“Sing loud if you’re not dancing, and you can also dance and sing – and it doesn’t matter if you know the steps or not,” said organizer Christine Renaud as she launched the flash mob into its performance of two songs.
The event was hosted by the local Friendly Feminist Meet Up and Food Not Bombs groups and was held to be a celebration and a call for change – to violence against women, equal pay for equal work and valued contributions by women.
