Freezing rain warning continues through Tuesday evening

UPDATE 3p.m. Freezing rain expected to continue into the evening and ending overnight as Environment Canada says temperature expected to rise to 5C . Temperature of 0C to -3 for daytime Wednesday.
UPDATE: No School Tuesday! Due to forecasted inclement weather and poor road conditions, all Tri-Board school bus and taxi transportation cancelled for Feb. 7. Schools expected to remain open.
Expect hazardous travelling conditions Tuesday with a mixed bag of precipitation.
A freezing rain warning has been issued for late morning into the afternoon, following a few centimetres of snow and ice pellets.
Reports indicate ice storm potential in portions of Eastern Ontario along the 401 corridor. The freezing rain is expected to change to rain within a few hours as the temperature hovers around the freezing mark between -1C and 2C. Wind gusts between 50 and 80 are forecast for the evening.

First consultations with various municipal departments and team members begins at about 4 a.m. to make a recommendation – usually around 5:30 a.m.
