Gaggle of geese makes its merry way in Milford

More than a dozen jaywalking geese stopped traffic on County Road 10 at Milford to waddle from one side of the road to the other. The County’s Lisa Heaney stopped her vehicle to capture these photos.

Geese are spotted almost everywhere throughout the County. They are known to be fearless, fast on the wing… and foot and are relatively hefty birds weighing around 7-14 pounds. They are considered social birds, but their loud hissing and angry honking can be intimidating.
