Registered Practical Nurse Sarah Monroe was honored for exception work in caring this week.
Monroe was presented with the Values in Action Award by Quinte Health Care Board of Directors member Nancy Evans on behalf of the board at its meeting Tuesday.
Monroe began her career in the dietary department at the County’s hospital, then joined the nursing staff. She was described as energetic, empathetic and enthusiastic in her job, and has been lauded by patients and colleagues for her compassionate and caring nature.
Lisa Mowbray, PEC Memorial Hospital Site Lead and Manager of Patient Services said Monroe consistently lives QHC’s values of “Imagine it’s You” and “Respect Everyone” and describes her as a “gem of a nurse”.
