Good food and great company filled the Athol Recreation Hall for the Cherry Valley Women’s Institute’s annual Ham Supper.
Nearly 100 people filled the hall to enjoy a supper of ham, scalloped potatoes, beans, vegetables, salads and a delectable variety of homemade pies, all prepared by members of the Cherry Valley WI.
A raffle basket, worth well over $250 was won by Elaine Marshall and a $25 gift certificate to Rexall was won by Maureen Finnegan.
“For their great assistance, the Athol Rec Committee was presented with $150 to go toward the restoration of the Alva Stevens Ledger, an 1800s ledger for Athol Twp,” said Wilma DeWolde, public relations rep for the W.I. “All who attended seemed to be having a great community encounter with lots of good food and fellowship.”
She thanked all who attended the annual supper for their support and thanked the Athol Rec Committee for bussing, washing dishes and cleaning up.
Funds raised from the supper go toward local community needs and projects.
