Fran Renoy presents Alzheimer Society Executive Director Linda Jackson with a donation of $550 on behalf the Golden Girls Bridge Club. Linda spoke at the group’s Bridge Luncheon about the history and importance of the Alzheimer Society of Prince Edward.

Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive, degenerative disease that attacks the brain. It is the most common form of dementing illness and is the fourth leading cause of death among Canada’s elderly. It has more than one victim – the person suffering from the disease and the family members or caregivers. The Alzheimer Society of Prince Edward acts as a resource and referall service to help support the individual and the family.
Visit the Alzheimer Society website; call 613-476-2085, or visit the office at 90 King St., Picton open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.  As a non-profit charity, donations are always welcome. If anyone wishes to donate their spare pennies, the Alzheimer Society would be pleased to take them. This has been one of their fundraising projects for many years.
