Home sales increase significantly for July

Despite the ups and downs during the COVID-19 pandemic, July real estate sales in the Quinte region showed significant increases over last year.

“The total active listings continues to be a challenge, down 26.3 per cent compared to last year, however the new listings for the month of July increased by 7.5 per cent over 2019,” said Heather Plane, president Quinte & District Association of Realtors.

There were 512 residential sales for July 2020, up from 343 sales for 2019, for an increase of 49.3 per cent.

The average residential sale price for July at $450,651 was a 22.7 per cent increase over the July 2019 amount of $367,267.
