Honours for second oldest (age 109) retired teacher in Ontario

Orma Slack, the second oldest retired teacher in Ontario, age 109, was honoured at the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board meeting Monday.
Superintendent of Education Cathy Portt introduced Park Dale School principal Stacey Belanger, vice-principal Barb Allen, Grade 8 student Brianna Palmateer and former superintendent Marg Werkhoven. Together they honoured the former teacher who was the first female principal of a Belleville school.
Mrs. Slack taught at Prince of Wales Public School and was principal at Park Dale School in the 1950s. She recently turned 109 and is known as the second oldest retired teacher in Ontario.
